Standard Barrel Lugs
Our most widely specified lug. Electrolytic copper barrel, ring-type palm, available in conductor sizes from 1.5 mm² to 1000 mm² (18 AWG – 2000 kcmil). Tin-plated as standard. Suitable for switchgear, panel boards, and power distribution.
- Full-seam barrel for maximum contact area
- Pre-insulated sleeve available on request
- Custom palm hole diameters to drawing
- Bulk packs of 100 / 500 / 1000 units
Long Barrel Lugs
Extended barrel length for high-vibration environments — marine, rail, and heavy industrial. Double-crimping zone provides superior pull-out resistance. Available in conductor sizes from 16 mm² to 630 mm² (6 AWG – 1200 kcmil).
- Extended barrel — 1.5× standard length
- Double-crimp zone for vibration resistance
- Suitable for marine and rail applications
- NDA available for OEM part numbering
Bi-Metallic Lugs
Copper-to-aluminium transition lugs for mixed-metal bus bar systems. Friction-welded interface eliminates galvanic corrosion. Specified by utilities and EPC contractors across the GCC and South Asia.
- Eliminates galvanic corrosion at Cu–Al interface
- Friction-welded bond — no filler metals
- Preferred by GCC utility contractors
- Test certificates available per batch
2-Hole Lugs
Two-hole lugs provide a second bolt fixing point, distributing mechanical load across the lug and eliminating rotation under vibration. Specified for bus bar connections in MV switchgear, transformer terminations, and generator output panels where a single-hole lug is insufficient.
- Dual bolt fixing — prevents palm rotation under load
- Hole pitch and diameter to customer drawing
- Wider palm available for high-current bus bar work
- Suitable for MV switchgear and transformer terminations
4-Hole Lugs
Four-hole lugs are the preferred termination for high-current bus bar systems, large power transformers, and generator sets where maximum mechanical stability and current distribution across the lug are critical. Lug geometry manufactured to IEC, ANSI, or customer-specific bolt patterns.
- Four-point fixing for maximum mechanical stability
- IEC, ANSI/NEMA, or custom bolt-hole patterns
- Preferred for large power transformers and gensets
- Extended palm width up to 120 mm available
Custom & Special Lugs
Non-standard lug geometry, offset barrels, double-hole palms, and special alloys — all manufactured to your drawing. Our in-house tooling team turns around first-article samples in 5–7 working days.
- Offset and double-hole palm configurations
- Special alloys: brass, bronze, silver-plated
- OEM part marking and private labelling
- First-article inspection report included
Compliance & Standards
Built to International Standards
All Electrific cable lugs are designed and tested to the principal international standards governing compression connectors. Compliance documentation and batch test certificates are available on every order.
Compression & Mechanical Connectors
The primary international standard for compression and mechanical connectors for power cables up to 36 kV. Covers current-carrying capacity, temperature rise, pull-out force, and corrosion resistance.
German / European Lug Dimensions
DIN 46235 defines dimensional tolerances for copper compression cable lugs. DIN 46329 covers bi-metallic (copper–aluminium) lugs. Widely specified by European OEMs and EPC contractors.
UL Standard for Wire Connectors
UL 486A covers connectors for copper conductors; UL 486B covers aluminium. Required for projects in North America and specified by GCC contractors following NEC/NFPA 70 codes.
Indian Standard for Cable Lugs
Bureau of Indian Standards specification for compression-type cable lugs. Mandatory for projects under Indian Electricity Rules and specified by domestic utilities and panel builders.
